As all the Dear Friends start to hibernate in the cooler months, finding SYNCHRONICITIES is a great activity for us all. It’s always fun to start looking for connections in what we see, feel, wear: A link to something – or someone – else is a very precious thing.
SYNCHRONICITY is a Jungian concept, through which the seemingly separate weave together around us to create meaningful connection and bonds. Whilst Carl Jung is master of the subconscious, I suggest we aim to apply this concept in a hyper-visual manner.
There’s a few ways in which I propose we explore this correlation and it’s application:

Monochromatic mode
I was watching a very funny-stupid French film (aren’t they all a little stupid..) called Les Secrets de L’Invisible, wherein the two main losers are wearing a jacket & scarf of the same colour:
“AWESOME!” I thought. It looks so unintentionally cool, thus emulating French dressing perfectly in it’s BRAINLESS glory. Also – as a side note – it reaffirms that blondes should wear white, and brunettes should wear red.
Matches Fashion
Following Matches Fashion’s downfall, I’ve reclaimed the name to propagate MATCHING and COORDINATING and BONDING and CONNECTING and LOVING THROUGH FASHION
I think matching elements of an outfit with someone else creates such a BOND, and releases OXYTOCIN (scientifically proven by me!). It is the perfect thing to do with your Dear Friends. Simply have a variation of the same item: brand, colour, style, energy and then WEAR IT TOGETHER!!!

Matching GAP hoodies
The Same Wash of Jeans
Cross Body Bags (Freitag?)
Knee-high socks
Equally ugly trainers as one another
Leo and Hannan Birthday Blowout 2022 cap
Try it, and tell me it DOESN’T make you love them even more.

I bring this up because I’m SCARED of it, and I want to be BRAVE. Creating true cohesion through from your head to your toes seems too preppy or too Stepford or too eighties… but is it actually nice? It feels like a friendly, cute, and EARNEST thing to do.

I think we’ll see lots of suits (casually worn) and double denim gracing the streets in these colder months, so I propose the continuation of this with things like plaid top and bottoms, and a hat and/or scarf and/or gloves that match.
There’s something romantic about having matching sets in your wardrobe, albeit a bit too blatant to be “synchronistic”…but perhaps the matchy-ness will harbour more subtle connectors elsewhere in our lives.
Two Final Points to Ignite Some Connecting Habits..
Supporting a Team Feels Good and Communitarian: For all my return DFs, you’ll recall I now watch AFL. Seems as though nobody else has joined me, you bastards! Anyways, the Geelong Cats have won their first SIX matches, so I’m very happy: the last time the Cats were 6 - 0 they made preliminary finals. The only thing about it that doesn’t spark joy is the humiliation of having watch the games on a website called DaddyLiveHD.sx, but at least even that humiliation is shared.
Hibernate in a Set: I’ve been staring at images of hibernating animals before bed to help me sleep. I also think my MUJI pyjamas help me tremendously, and I think they’re the cutest thing in the world: I then can combine the two and imagine a squirrel or bear wearing pyjamas. If I was DICTATOR, I’d request (I’m still a polite dictator!) that everyone own at LEAST two pairs of pyjamas.
